Protein identity

Proteax provides identity checks that can help you guard against registering the same protein sequence or protein structure twice. This is most easily demonstrated by opening one of the protein entries of the "Duplicates demo" project.

Use the "Find duplicates..." button to execute an identity search. The demo client sends your current protein entry to Proteax which first normalizes the sequence and structure of the protein entry and next finds those entries that match.

Note how Proteax is able to recognize cyclic permutations as well as taking residue modifications correctly into account.
